How to Manage One Million Dollars...

This was a FUN read.  Who wouldn't enjoy dreaming that you had one million dollars to manage?  Notice the title did not say one million dollars to spend.  Each chapter in this book is written by a different author and some of these names are well known.......Charles L. Stanley, Dave Ramsey, Paul J. Meyer and many more.  The section that was the most fun for me was, of course, the one on starting your own business.  It makes a lot of sense to read what successful people have to say, and then do it!  Check out  How to Manage One Million Dollars or Less.

Working Barefoot?

Wouldn't that be fun?  Carrie Wilkerson has written a book called  The Barefoot Executive: The Ultimate Guide for Being Your Own Boss and Achieving Financial Freedom  that is fascinating.  She has started a fabulous business working from home and caring for her two small children.  And no one tells her what she must wear to work, so she works barefoot.  Awesome!  Carrie has a blog, a facebook page, and does online webinars.  As a matter of fact, I am listening to one right now as I am typing this.  She is inspiring.  Unfortunately, she is telling me that there is no magic formula that produces instant results.  Bummer!  But she does say that it can be done with hard work and determination.  I believe that and am determined.  Enjoy the book!

Finding Your True Calling

It is very true that most people I know are not working at their "true calling".  Why?  Because they cannot figure out how to make a living at it!   There are some people who know what their calling is, but there are many people who have no idea what their "calling" is.  Every time they come up with an idea, it is quickly brushed aside because they don't see a way to make money with it.  Are you working in your calling?  If so, you are very blessed.  If not, I have a suggestion.  I found this book called Finding Your True Calling: The Handbook for People Who Still Don't Know What They Want to be When They Grow Up But Can't Wait to Find Out .  This book was written by Valerie Young and is alot of fun!  There are exercises in it that will guide you to discover your calling.  Just what I needed and I would highly recommend checking it out. 

Making a Living without a Job ???

Just started reading a very interesting book by Barbara Winter called Making a Living Without a Job, revised edition: Winning Ways for Creating Work That You Love.  Have you heard of it?  Very interesting so far.  I've been reading her email blogs for awhile now and thinking she might be onto something.  Subtitle is Winning Ways for Creating Work that you Love.  How great is that?  For those of you who know me, you know that I've been talking about this kind of thing for years.  Time for some action.
